Prices for systems start very low at just $50 for working system and less than $10 for the parts computers. Hard Drives are $22 for 80GB and less for the smaller ones. I am looking to sell this in bulk. I will sell things just one at a time…but for a bulk buyer I will give really good prices. If you need cables or hard drives or monitors or computers or laptops or anything PC related I likely have it.

This is an Acer Aspire One D257.  I am upgrading it from 1GB to 2GB today. I wanted to make a video on how to do it.  This video is valid for most of the newer Aspire Ones.  This is basically how you open the door, once in the door you can open upgrade the hard drive or replace the keyboard also.   This laptop is designed to work with DDR3 8500, you can put faster RAM into it but it will not make it any faster.

This will be all day on the 25th. People can come as early as they like to save a place and set up. Most heavy gaming will start at 2pm or so with food at 5pm. We will keep going as long as there are people who want to play.

Here are the key details.
1. This event is FREE and open to the gaming public. (Donations will be accepted to buy more drinks and to provide for better prizes.)
2. If you plan to go PLEASE RSVP to this event on Facebook, also please “Like” Emerald Computers.
3. Food and Soda will be available, but we ask that you help chip in on the cost.
4. Bring your best gaming rig, please bring your own cables to hook up to power and to network. We have twice as many chairs as last time, and a few more tables. We should have more people though so it would still be good to bring your chairs.
5. If you are under 18 you will need your parents permission, either in writing or in person.
6. If you are over 21 you may bring Alcohol as long as you don’t share with under-aged gamers.
7. Various games will be played, we assume that with a party this large many different games will be played at different times.
8. There will be a Pre-Lan Party Party on friday the 24th Starting at 5pm to get basic things set up and to play games, if you are really hard core you may come to this also. If you do come to this we will close up at midnight on friday night so that we call can get sleep for the big Saturday Party.
9. We need help to run this…if you can help please say so in the comments for this event.

Today I worked on a brother 3040cn.  It is a really nice and low cost color laser printer.  The starter cartrages started to go out after about 400 pages.  So I told the printer to reset the count.  This is how you do it.
All you need to do is:
1) Turn the printer off and then on again.
2) Open cover.
3) Press Cancel and Secure Print buttons at the same time.
4) Press the + button and scroll through the colors that need to be reset. (reset both STR and STD when prompted. I just reset them all.
5) Press OK (twice, once for STR and STD)
6) You’re done. You don’t even need to take the cartridges out and the printer thinks you just installed four new toner cartridge.

Did this and now it works perfect. Last time I did something like this they got about 500 more pages of perfect printing before having to replace the ink. Also when you buy ink please spend a little time looking, there are some really good and cheap sources for ink. Buy from a place with a return policy because some ink does not work.
